For my Blog Post 2, I will discuss the positive effect of Sesame Street on Pre- School Kids. I’ve researched the positive impact on Pre-School Kids, and I found most of these sources have all agreed that children are being educated and develop knowledge from Sesame Street. Sesame Street is a television show that started in 1969 and still running their regular episodes today, their audiences are children who are being taught to read, write, draw, and speak different languages from the show. The study finds Sesame Street as effective as Pre-School teaching is to children. Therefore, Sesame Street is not only for entertainment for children but also for educational and development to a child’s learning skill.
Studies have proven that children from the 1970s had no access to watch television, and the systems were set up differently. Although studies before were easier because there were groups of the population that had access to watching Sesame Street and there were groups that didn’t. It shows the effects of a child’s learning is different from watching Sesame Street are a step ahead or have more knowledge than the child who doesn’t. Now, studies are more complicated than before because most toddlers have access to watch Sesame Street, which is a good thing because we do know it has a positive effect on children. However, there is a debate about whether children should watch more Sesame Street and is Pre-School is necessary. Sesame Street is a great resource for children who nowadays choose to watch television, so parents should consider Sesame Street as their resource for their children.
